The Hef Effect...

After seeing the chloe, pajama like pants on stylist Christine Centenera, i've been obsessed with adding a pair of silk pajamas to my wardrobe.  I love the ease of being able to dress them up or down with either a plain tee and a blazer, or chunky jewelry and an amazing pair of platforms.  Maybe Hef had it right this whole time, I might have to go on a search for a pair of vintage pucci pajamas...xoxo

Booties for Fall...

A huge trend for fall this year, is the sometimes not so friendly ankle boot.  I say not so friendly, because  these boots cut our legs at a point that can leave us with stubby "cankles".  Keeping the silhouette simple will help in cleaning up the trend.  A close cut to your ankle will streamline any dress or skirt you pair it with.  A 3-3 1/2 inch stack heel, in a lighter color, are also options that can work in your favor.  Worn with jeans is your safest bet, whether on the outside or inside of your pant, you create more of a staple look.  Remember that comfort is everything, so if you're on the fence with the trend, a peep toe or pump will keep you looking just as fabulous.  xoxo

Summer Skin

Vanessa Traina, Stylist
It's been hot! I'd say, has been an understatement.  Especially for those who are in the midwest and the east coast.  Trying to keep our skin clean, clear and glowing can be a daunting feat when mother nature is working against us.  I tend to have oily skin, so the heat and humidity for me, is uncomfortable at best.  I get asked a lot what my skin care regime is, and especially this time of year, I have to say SIMPLE.  Not wearing a whole lot of make-up and using a proper cleanser can help keep down the flare ups.  Try using products that are oil free and stay with minimal application.  Above all, protect what you have with a solid SPF.  xoxo

American Royalty

We don't have royalty in this country, our closest resemblance comes in the form of George Clooney ;).  Anyway, with the excitement of William and Kate coming to Southern California it made me wonder who could rival that pedigree.  Then I read that the anniversary of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, with sister Lauren Bessette, horrific plane crash was on July 16th.  As much as both of them tried to live a quite, private life, their every move was spotlighted and magnified.  They, to me, are as close to royalty as we have had in this country.  Their effortless grace and down to earth persona are characteristics that are not easily come by.  I often stop and wonder what would have been if their destiny had ended differently...xoxo

Orange You Glad...

With so much color being shown for the season to come, (fall), I thought i'd express my love for orange.  Orange is a corky, unexpected, but happy color.  It's kind of one of those colors that is not the first you gravitate towards, but I love the surprise of chic when it's paired or worn without fear.  Of course we can't forget that one of the most luxurious brands is wrapped in orange.  We may not all be able to buy the beautiful orange box we call Hermes, but we can all sprinkle a little bit of it around.  xoxo

Stack em up!

Friendship bracelets are nothing new, especially to any 12 year old that year after year makes them their pet project.  They're fun, colorful and a great way to show your "love" to anyone you make them for.  Being that now i'm in my 30's, friendship bracelets aren't really the appropriate way to show affection, but honestly i'm loving the nostalgia and the simplicity for what they stand for.  Bracelets have made a huge comeback the last couple of years and with all the Hermes, Cartier and Anita Ko stackables, i'm liking to throw a few more friendships into the mix.  xoxo

The New Soccer Mom!?

Vogue's latest issue, due out this week, features Sarah Jessica Parker being the glamorous mom that she is.  Whether it's a true depiction, or not (i'll take not always), it's a beautifully photographed scene of a city couple with their spunky, energetic kids.  Mario Testino is one of my favorite photographers and he really captures the chaos of having kids in a fun, creative, tongue and cheek way.  Although it may not always feel like we can have it all, I believe that we can! xoxo

Paris Couture...Street Style!

The Paris Couture shows just took place and although sometimes the shows leave me scratching my head, the street style is always fun and inspiring.  xoxo

To the Point!

For many season's now we've seen round toed, platform heels.  Not only are they more comfortable than the regular stiletto, they also give us bit more height.  Lately though, my eye is starting to really like more of a pointy toe.  It's feminine and edgy at the same time.  Whether worn with your skinny's, a pencil skirt, or peeping out of the coming trend of longer wider legs, the pointy pump is a cool addition.  Now, don't go out and throw away all your round toed shoes, but maybe it's time to add a companion.  xoxo
