Accessorize!

When I think of YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) my brain automatically goes to amazing fashions, iconic handbags and the ever sold out tribute heel, but i've recently been introduced to their jewelry.  More specifically, rings.  I fell in love with the Arty ring.  It has a bohemian feel with couture lines.  It comes in a variety of colors and best of all the sizing starts at 4 so it allows for the petite girls to join in on the cool.  Look around for different retailers as not all of them carry the same colors.  Layer it up with bangles and bracelets, or allow for the ring to speak for itself.  Either way it's sure to conjure up some attention.  xoxo

Skinny vs. Wide!!

No, I'm not talking about hips, I'm talking about jeans.  I'm sure most of you have a wardrobe, much like mine, that's denim heavy.  Skinny's, trousers, boyfriend, distressed, high waisted, low waisted, colored, light blue, dark blue, blah, blah, blah.  Finding that "perfect" pair can be as much fun as getting your bikini waxed.  Sorry TMI.

The good news about denim, is that not any one style stays the trend for very long.  We've seen skinny's for quite a while now, and although I think their one of the cleanest lines in denim, I am ready for the change that's coming.  We're starting to see more trouser silhouettes make their way to the streets.  They tend to be a little more forgiving both on the body and in attitude.  I like the laid back, boho feel.  There's nothing cooler than a tiny tank top and a wide leg.  Just keep in mind what's makes you comfortable.  You'll never be on trend if you don't look yourself.  xoxo

Golden Moments

With the last blog being about color, I wanted to share all the beautiful color that was worn Sunday night at the Golden Globes.  The emerald green gowns were amazing.  That's definitely the color! xoxo

Spring 2011...So much color

We've finally had some of our "LA" weather back!  As most of the country is covered in snow, we're enjoying 70 degree temps.  I'm not sure how long it'll last, but it's nice to see what's coming for the spring.

With the awakening of spring, comes color back into our wardrobe.  And that's exactly what all the designers and make-up artists showed on the runways.  I personally am not a fan of wildly loud shades, but infusions of jewel tones can add life back into a black and white and grey wardrobe.  I would suggest to use it sparingly.  Whether worn on your body or brushed on your face, keep in mind that less is more.  While violet eyeshadows and orange lips may not be for everybody, a light stroke of peach blush might be all you need to awakening your inner spring.  xoxo

Emmanuelle Alt...The new Editor In chief of French Vogue!

Since the abrupt "resignation" of Carine Roitfeld from French Vogue, there's been a lot of speculation of why she left and who would take over.  It's been said that Carine was asked to step down (or fired) because of unethical practices inside the magazine.  I'm not exactly sure what the final straw was, but I know it had to do with a heavy hitting designer.

Emmanuelle Alt has an incredible style and has been the fashion director for French Vogue as long as Carine has been editor (10 years).  I believe Carine is who hired Emmanuelle.  Not everyone is too excited about Emmanuelle taking over as head chief.  Many believe she doesn't have enough experience and basically she's Carine dressed in different clothing.  I for one, am really excited about the transition.  I think Emmanuelle will bring an edgier feel than Carine and I look forward to new inspiration.  Hope you do too.  xoxo

Parisian Chic!

I've recently come across these photos of different parisian-esque apartments, but with the same chic esthetic.  I love, love, love this type of decor.  It's a mix of old with new,  black and white, and a variety of all the natural elements...wood, metal, leather, glass etc.  My favorite part of this esthetic are the re-claimed wood floors. Not only is it eco-friendly, it gives the rooms a bit of an edge among the stark white walls.

Yes I know, it's not for everyone.  It's not necessarily a "polished" vibe, but nonetheless it's one of my faves.  Hope you enjoy too! xoxo
