Bye Bye 2010...Hello 2011

I can't believe that 2010 is almost over.  With only a few hours left, it makes me reflect back on the kind of year I've had and the kind of year I hope to create for myself for 2011.  Many changes have occurred personally for me over the last 2 1/2 years.  So many blessings, that everyday I wake I feel lucky to have the life I have.  Health, love, family and friends, and a little bit of insight is all we need.  Sure we all hit a few speed bumps along the way, but if we believe that things happen for a reason or for a lesson, and we all keep faith in that we are all supposed to be where we are, I believe we can travel seamlessly through this journey of life.

I'm looking forward to 2011 and the professional changes that have been so long brewing.  I look forward to sharing my creative voice and along the way hopefully inspiring others.  I hope that you come along on the journey and in the process keep living with style, grace and individuality.  Happy New Year!!! xoxo

BTW, we're still up in Whistler and my computer is somehow not allowing me to download images.  I don't like not having pics...sorry!

Carine Roitfeld

I have to say I was totally surprised when Carine Roitfeld, the editor in chief of French Vogue, announced her resignation.  She has been with the magazine for over 10 years and in the process has become an icon herself.  Many believe that french Vogue is the only Vogue that counts.  I look forward to seeing who her successor will be and most importantly where Carine's next venture will take her.  It looks like she's on to bigger and brighter.  xoxo

House of HERMES!

What can I say, or do I have to say that we don't already know about HERMES?  This house is synonymous with sophistication, timelessness and all around a true classic.  In the present day of this horrible recession, it's the only design house that has shown more than a 26% growth rate just in the first 6 months of 2010.  Along with other luxury brands, HERMES continues it's strength.

Ok, that's enough of the stats, lets face it...HERMES is just cool.  What I love most, is how something so incredibly conservative, that hasn't changed it's esthetic since it's inception, can look so "now" and just plain amazing.  Yes, I know, HERMES isn't the cheapest house in the world, but one things for sure, anything that you're lucky to acquire now...will be passed down and worn by your daughter later.  xoxo

Fur...ocious

There's a lot of controversy wether to wear fur or not.  Although I'm not an advocate of going out and buying a new fur coat, there are some instances (climate in different parts of the world) that do warrant fur. I'm from LA, so obviously wearing fur here is a little ridiculous, but eskimos in Alaska use fur as part of their survival.

With that said...fur can look incredibly cool.  There's a sense of glamour and sophisticated unkeptness when you throw on a fur over your pajamas (sex and the city!) or the yin and yang of hard (leather) vs soft (fur).    It's almost like I don't care, but I do really cause I threw on a $10,000 fur over my Victoria Secret's Pink sweatshirt.  As much as I like the look, I've never been able to throw one on.  The thought of those beautiful little noses and faces of the animals has always spoken louder.  What do you think!  xoxo
