Koo, Koo, Kaa Choo...

Tamara Melon
There's been a lot of talk whether Jimmy Choo was going public or not.  Well, in the end, the upscale shoe  brand has been bought out by privately owned company Labelux.  It was a big payout of roughly $800 Million.   Labelux is a relatively new parent company that also houses Derek Lam and Bally.  Tamara Melon will stay on as chief creative officer and CEO Joshua Schulman will stay on as well.  That's not a bad days pay!  Good for her! xoxo

Is This a Joke

Princess Beatrice
We all remember the ridiculous pill box hat the Princess Beatrice wore to the royal wedding, well apparently it was auctioned off on Ebay for $130,700...Has someone lost their mind?!

Ahhh CHANEL

The Cruise wear fashion shows have started and I find these shows to be the favorite among many people.  The Resort category is much more wearable and most LA department stores order heavy from these shows.  The most recent, CHANEL, was so beautiful.  Not only did the back drop and furniture feel like it took place in a garden, but the clothes were so feminine and whimsical.  Karl Lagerfeld is truly one of geniuses and how he keeps an almost 100 year old fashion house current and new is inspiring.  xoxo

Street Style

Pic by Style and the City
One of my most favorite things to do is people watch.  I can sit for hours watching all walks of life pass by.  It's incredibly inspiring seeing people piece together their individuality.  "Street Style", as it's commonly known in fashion, is where many designers find their own inspirations and ideas.  I love how lifestyle and demographics guide this side of fashion.

Street style definitely has an ease and comfort to it, but it's always carried with an amazing amount of confidence.  Although you may not be caught dead wearing ripped denim shorts, it's undeniable when  worn and styled by the right person, the pairing is perfection.  xoxo

Summer Essentials...

Summer is finally upon us, the longer days, the warmer nights and the laid back attitude is a welcomed relief from our, seemingly, long winter.  I'm looking forward to spending time with good friends, grilling good food and relaxing on days that feel like a vacation.

Wardrobe always poses a dilemma during this time.  Because it's a casual season, sometimes casual gets translated into sloppy and unkept.  If you know me, or follow my blog, you know that I'm all about a no fuss face, and clean line heavy.  With that said, there are summer essentials that no matter where you fall on the casual spectrum they are sure to help in keeping you "cool".  xoxo
The ever important Sunblock!
Kiehl's now makes SPF lip balm!
Keep your fedora's for one more season.
A classic sunglass.
Shorts are a huge trend!
I love a canvas tote instead of "designer" labels for summer.

Fairytales...

I haven't had my computer all week so I feel a little out of touch in the world of pop culture. With that said, I didn't miss the royal wedding and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it happened. I'm not one to get excited over the pretentious, over indulgent monarchy, but there was something different with this specific event. I'm not sure if it's because Catherine is the first commoner in over 350 years to marry the future king of England, or if it's because, having a son myself, knowing that Prince Williams' mother was not there to celebrate and rejoice in this life changing journey made me a little sad. Either way I found the day to be incredibly sweet, understated and inspiring. The obvious goes unsaid...Kate looked amazing and carried herself with unwavering grace, but the looks of love and the ease that William and Kate share between them is so endearing.

Knowing what's it's like to have a long courtship with your future husband brings it's challenges, but it also has some invaluable rewards. Speaking from experience, navigating through rough waters with someone from an early beginning brings a deep connection that is very difficult to break. The perception they give, is just that, a solid unwavering foundation that will bring years of friendship, love, loyalty and respect.

They may be the future King and Queen of England, but I find them to be just two people that found their own fairytale. xoxo
