Summer Nights

With summer basically kicking off this weekend our wardrobe changes start taking a more relaxed approach.  I have to tell you that I am more a fan of the cooler months than I am of summer, but I do enjoy warm summer nights that accompany glowing skin.

We have quite a few choices when putting our looks together.  The maxi dress is still a go to staple.  It's been around a while but updating your accessories will make it look and feel current.  The jumpsuit or romper is another option, it's a bit more retro but makes a great statement for those laid back BBQ'S.  The look I'm really loving this season is the polished, tailored shorts with a blouse and gladiators.  I find it very sophisticated and easy to wear day or night.  Pair this option with a loose ponytail and a clutch and your sure to glow with perfection. xoxo

Flat out

With spring in full swing and summer right around the corner, we start to think about wardrobe changes and additions. I personally find fall much more inspiring, but summer can be just as fun in a laid back way.

I've been blogging lately about a feminine edge. Lots of black and a bit more "rock and roll". And although I prefer this style of dress, spring and summer doesn't warrant those looks. Just the heat alone will cause you to suffocate in black leather.

I'm still loving skinny jeans for the easy days of summer. With a long fitted tank top and a pair of flats you can keep cool and keep your cool. Pulling your hair back in an easy mid-range pony tail can finish off your "lazy" day look.

I think that a really great pair of flats is a must for summer. Flip flops, I know, are the go to shoe but a flat is a more sophisticated and polished way to go. A sandal can also work as long as it wraps around your ankle or heel. And to give yourself a little bit of "edge" finding a shoe that has a small amount of hardware or embellishment is always nice. Have fun this summer and stay cool. xoxo

Spring Awakening

Even though we're in the dead of winter, it's time to start thinking of what's ahead.  Longer days, warmer nights and outdoor bbq's with friends and family.  Can't you smell that spring is in the air?  Well not really, but we can start thinking about what we need for the season ahead.  Last year the maxi dress made a huge impact.  The laid back, polished look was really appealing and many different body types look great in the relaxed style.

I think spring will bring on more of the same.  But with a little twist.  Last september I started seeing really cute jersey jump suits.  They're just as laid back and polished as the maxi dress, but a little more updated.  Don't worry... you can still get away with wearing the long, column dress.  But if you're looking to add a new updated piece, the jump suit is the way to go.

Pair up the suit with flip flops for during the day, and a cute heel for at night.  Keeping your hair and make-up simple and relaxed will complete this casual, but super cute look.  Have fun and enjoy the outdoors.
